Oulton Park Race Weekend 2024

28|03|2024

Oulton Park marked the start of the British GT Championship, kicking off with a massive 39-car capacity entry of GT3 and GT4 cars.

Whilst the first race came with a small hiccup, spinning down at cascades, Ian Duggan and Gordie Mutch managed to pull it back with a great show of pace and kept strong, striking a degree of luck with the safety car to bring them back up to the pack, and sprinting to the end – overtaking 5 or 6 cars, finishing overall at P4 in PRO AM.

Race 2 was huge for Nathan Harrison, who climbed 8 positions, finishing in P5 for PRO AM with partner Steven Lake, who unfortunately drove a Full Course Yellow period for the second half of the race.
Overall, the Lotus Emira GT4s debuted well within the PRO AM category at the first round of the British GT which serves as the biggest lesson for the series, given that it is the team’s first ever racing championship.

Mahiki Racing will continue to Paul Ricard for the inaugural round of the European GT Championship on the weekend of April 05, then taking a two week break before the British GT’s blue riband event – the Silverstone 500 – on April 26-28.
