Misano Circuit
The official round 3 of the European GT4 Championship is officially underway. Saturday, race day, begins bright and early for Mahiki Racing and the Lotus Emira GT4, and the team is feeling sprite in the final countdown to Race 1.
The first qualifying bout takes place only 5 hours prior to the first race, closely followed by qualifying 2; a mere 20 minutes later. Then comes a nail biting few hours as the team prepares to fight for a position on track, with no telling what could happen on such a small and fierce circuit.
We have seen the Lotus Emira GT4 car in two spins this week, one by #69 Jordan Kerridge, pinned into a tight corner and knocked out by an Aston Martin, and another by #69 Steven Lake,
Nonetheless, the team worked tirelessly to manage any future hiccups, and the hope is to have come away stronger.
Only time will tell.
The Emira has, in ways, been challenging; it’s a brand-new race car that hasn’t competed in a championship yet, so it takes steady hands, adept minds, and late nights to ensure that everything is being learnt the way it should, which is exactly what the team have prepared themselves for. The competition in the European GT4 Championship this year is mighty, with a wave of manufacturer teams and decorated drivers, but Mahiki Racing remain positive and get ready to tear up the track in the meantime.
