Mahiki Racing officially announce the first driver in their 2026 line-up, Josh Rowledge. The 20 year old racer joins the team with extensive experience and enthusiasm, partnered with Steven Lake racing the McLaren 720s GT3.
Here’s what Josh had to say:
The team has shown real ambition and professionalism, and I’m confident we have everything in place to be competitive from the very start.
After competing in the British GT Championship in 2023 with the McLaren GT4 and stepping up to GT3 competition in 2024, I feel I’ve built a really solid foundation at this level. Racing extensively in Asia last season was a huge part of my development, pushing me in new environments and accelerating my learning both on and off the track.
Joining Mahiki Racing is incredibly exciting for me. The team has shown real ambition and professionalism, and I’m confident we have everything in place to be competitive from the very start. I’m fully focused on working closely with the engineers and crew to extract the maximum from every session, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together this season.
I’d also like to say a huge thank you to my sponsors, GB Technologies, Rescue rod and We Trade, for their continued support. Their belief in me makes this opportunity possible, and I’m proud to be representing them as we head into an exciting season ahead.
Steven Lake, both driver and owner of Mahiki Racing, shared his thoughts on the 2026 season ahead, as well as his long-established relationship with new partner Josh Rowledge.
We’re delighted to welcome Josh to Mahiki Racing for the upcoming season. He’s shown impressive progression over the past few years, stepping up through the British GT ranks and gaining valuable experience internationally. His pace, professionalism, and approach to racing really stood out to us, and I’m confident he’ll be a great fit within the team.
On a personal note, it’s a real privilege for me to be racing alongside Josh this season. I also had the privilege of having Josh race for my karting team many years ago when he was a young driver, competing in Cadets.
To see the journey he’s been on since then, build such a successful career, and now come full circle to be my teammate, is something I’m incredibly proud to be a part of.
As a team, Mahiki Racing is focused on continuing to push forward, building momentum, and delivering strong performances on track while growing professionally off it.
We’re hugely excited about what lies ahead and can’t wait to get the season underway.
“Entering our third season in British GT feels like a natural evolution for Mahiki Racing. We’ve spent the last two years learning the nuances of this championship, and stepping up our commitment with the McLaren 720S GT3 is a statement of our intent.
Seeing the team’s growth from those first laps – to now operating at the sharp end of the GT3 grid – is incredibly rewarding. The 720S is a phenomenal piece of engineering, and we’re ready to see what we can achieve with McLaren this year.”
